From Left to Right, Mary Pinard & Beth Wynstra
Beth Wynstra and Mary Pinard came to Wabaunsee County in August 2021 and collected memories from community members for “Theatre at the Ruin.” The memories will inspire a script for the community theatre project scheduled for June 2022.

Do you have a memory of The Volland Store, Alma, Alta Vista, Eskridge, Harveyville, Maple Hill, McFarland, Lake Wabaunsee, Paxico… Anywhere in Wabaunsee County? Train stories? Cattle ranching memories? Family moments? Events in the community? Livelihood reminiscences? School-related stories? Connections to the landscape? Theatre at the Ruin Director Beth Wynstra and Scriptwriter Mary Pinard are seeking a wide range of stories, from historical to present-day to guide them as they craft an original play for and about this community. Your memory can be very brief—even just a sentence or two.
The goal is to collect the memories by December 15. Mary will then begin to write the script. Beth and Mary will return in March 2022 to finalize the collection of stories and audition actors –
