In October 1914 Otto Kratzer and Gene Hawes left Volland, Kansas, on their Indian bikes, and headed for California
They intended to visit the World Fair in San Francisco and then go on to San Diego to take in the exposition there. However, when they reached Albuquerque, they became uncertain about the availability of gasoline for the rest of their journey.
Undaunted, they put their bikes on the train going east to Volland, and promptly boarded a train continuing west to California.
In the spirit of that adventure
present a Dice Run from Pioneer Bluffs to The Volland Store
